Broken screen?

I haven't used the eReader for about a week, and after I tried to turn it on today, it didn't do anything. I then did a reset by pushing the button, and the led started flashing for a long time. I finally got it to power on the backlash but the screen is frozen, and there's a feint horizontal line on it. When I got home, there are now more lines on the screen, including 2 vertical lines. It will not respond to trying to change the backlight and I'm not sure if it responds at all. I've attached a photo of the screen, if anyone can help me that will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Read the rules about resolution of pictures in post. 600x800 px iirc
Remove this monstrosity before the moderators have to scold you.

Sorry, I was on mobile and the only way I could upload a picture was to use discord and then select the attachment link. :/

@Darkworld: You can just attach it without embedding it in the post.

It isn't clear what the line across the screen is. I thought it might have been a problem with the cover image. If you have more lines now in different directions, then it is more likely that it is a broken screen.

You say it isn't responding, but have you tried the pinhole-reset button, or holding the power button down for about 20 seconds? The first will force a restart if the device is running but hung, the latter will force a power off. After that, you can turn it on again. When you do, watch for the power light that is part of the power button to see what happens.

And, make sure you charge it. If the device has hung or gotten into a loop of some sort, then it could have drained the battery. In that case, it has probably turned off without a chance to update the screen.

I have the same issue (I think), just much more profound. It has been laying on my desk, and battery ran dry, for about 6 months. I went to use and center of the screen is blank for pixels, but is still responsive if you can guess what lies beneath.

I've tried fully charging it, resetting it and a full factory reset... to no avail.

I deleted the image because it was too large for the software to resize and I didn't have the tools. But a little consideration, please; the size of that image was ridiculous.

It doesn't look like a broken screen. I've never see a rectangular area in the middle of the screen. I'm thinking it could be a screen controller gone bad.
