Lucky you. I dropped mine after 7 days of having it, from the counter to the tile floor. It chipped paint off the front corner around the camera right under my screen protector and left a dent in the top corner as well. I have one of those Samsung flip cases on it. Didn't really do much to protect it.

Some kind of rubber bumper is what I use. I have an $8 one on my Galaxy 7Plus. Pretty solid. Doesn't let it slip in the hand either.

I have a basic TPU gel case on my Note. Improves grip considerably! When it goes into my bag, it is stashed on a cheap Amazon faux leather 5" GPS case. My Note is in very nice condition after a half year of use.

I don't use as a phone, just add a wifi tablet.
