Drop caps

I'm having trouble with my drop caps at the start of each chapter. They're a line too low and the line they're supposed to be on is indented. The original document is in World, converted to HTML, then to MOBI and EPUB. Everthing looks fine until it goes through the conversion. Any suggestions? I'm new at this.

Thanks

If you have Word 2007 or later try saving as DOCX and convert the DOCX to EPUB/MOBI.

See http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/conv...-specific-tips

There is a sample DOCX you can download at that link, IIRC it includes Drop Caps

Also see http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq....ats-to-convert

Did you have Remove spacing between Paragraphs selected in the Look and Feel section of Conversion.

IMHO there are things like Dropcaps that just need TLC by hand (use the ebook-editor). I do all my fine tuning with Sigil or the new editor and gave up on trying for that perfect conversion result. Usually, I can do a quickey edit way faster than futzing with unique settings.
