posting from my new laptop I bought earlier today. It has a ful HD screen and I am having trouble looking at it. I think all the writing is smaller?? Maybe I have to adjust the resolution?

Although I'm not familiar with Win7, I do know that XP had several ways to increase font size (as well as icon size) without changing the resolution of the screen. On the 'Display Properties' screen (right click on the desktop,) there is one way right on the first screen, then if you look at 'Effects' and 'Advanced' from that screen there are more.

I have made text a little bigger in Windows 7. So far so good.

I love this one as it is getting dark now and the backlit keypad is showing me the way - yippee. And the screen automatically adjusts so it is not so bright! Thanks Sony. Poor old Acer can be retired soon.

note to self - never buy an Acer again. I am feeling sorry for it.

There is a FireFox Add-on - NoSquint - you can adjust text size to fit your eyes - I couldn't use netbooks without it.

I have 'something' that I use with Firefox that adjusts the page size in the browser. Ctr+Scroll wheel and I change the size of everything in the window. But I don't see "No-Squint" in my add-on list...

Thanks, Tom. I just loaded it to try out. I wish I knew what it was that I've been using all along. Seems to do a 'bit' of what NoSquint does. NoSquint has a lot more options available.

You're welcome. The chicken turned me on to it some time back. One of the things I like best is that you can set defaults for full zoom and text zoom, but you can change them quickly with a couple of mouse clicks if you go somewhere they aren't suitable. And, it remembers the settings you use for various sites. I sit rather far from my screen, so I use a default zoom of 160% and a text zoom of 110%.

Ordering a bunch of cd's. I haven't been into music for a while, I listen to it in the background and on my mp3 player when I'm out and about but beside getting the latest cd's from my favourite artists I haven't bothered with anything new (for me) in a long while. Until last week or so when I discovered the band Train. I just ordered all their albums from various websites and also the solo album of the lead singer.
