"broken" Kindle 3 as web server

Screen on my Kindle 3 got broken accidentally ... so I decided to use device as web server - silent, fast enough, integrated UPS ...

For those interested - I am attaching compiled version of Hiawatha web server + PHP + logrotate + other exported files (from make install).

To free RAM I disabled framework (as it is no longer needed) - getting very nice 220MB FREE with web server and 4 php-cgi wrappers running

Code:
$> free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 256536 35552 220984 0 7544 12800
-/+ buffers/cache: 15208 241328
Swap: 0 0 0
xx.
Attached Files
File Type: bz2 hiawatha.tar.bz2 (1.27 MB, 291 views)
File Type: bz2 logrotate.tar.bz2 (275.3 KB, 195 views)
File Type: bz2 php.tar.bz2 (2.38 MB, 243 views)

transfer files to device (scp or mount device as USB drive and copy locally) ... then ssh to device or use serial console to login ... extract files and edit configuration files to suit your needs...

...if you need more details - let me know which step is a problem for you...

Yep, really good Idea!

I have a kindle 3 with a broken screen too and I wanted to do the same!

Actually I copied hiawatha extracting your zip into the / of the device but I really don't know where extract php and logrotate (maybe logrotate goes to sbin)

Also I think that we will need to open the port 80 and create a init script to start hiawatha at boot.
