Update does keep the localisation. After the announced 2 restarts my Touch is still german localised. Launcher still working smoothly. Did not see anything in "English" yet.
Even all messages during the update process have been localised ones. Landscape mode still same issue as on 5.0.3 for the ones interested in. |

@eureka:
You already have 5.0.4 installed, so would you mind running the "extract" command, and diff'ing it to the 5.0.3 state just to see if anything has changed in the java part? Whatever the result is, how should we proceed about the naming of the current translations? |

Incorrect I'm still on 5.0.3

As for my laziness, we should leave naming as is. As for uniformity with our previous behaviour, we should change prefixes to 5.0.4. I honestly don't remember what was my part in previous naming migration from 5.0.0 to 5.0.3 besides changing of names of resources on Transifex. But I think it was you who made some first steps. Am I right? If so, then do these first steps and I will do the rest |

@ixtab, I've ran KTFrameWorkLocale tool with /opt/amazon/ebook extracted from 5.0.4 update bundle as source directory.
First attempt to find differencies (diff -rNu against src/5.0.3/framework from Git repo) produced results that was pretty boring for me to analyze. But maybe you have more fine technic. So I've uploaded extraction results to give you a chance to help me And here is the list of files in /opt/amazon/ebook from 5.0.4 update bundle with md5sum's: Spoiler:

Nope, I also only used diff.
The good news is that there have been no changes at all. |

Here: Bodoni MT and Antiqua
Dear colleagues,
I am uploading two font families ready to the hack by ixtab: Bodoni MT and Antiqua. Both tested and I found readable and not problematic. Antiqua seems good generally, and Bodoni, at least on Kindle, a bit squared, which turned out to be good for little font size. Enjoy and, who knows how, please, update it to the Wiki. Umm... thanks for that, but would you mind posting this in the Font Hack thread?
As for editing the Wiki: that's even simpler than packaging fonts. Try it: https://wiki.mobileread.com/w/index.p...dit§ion=31 |

Wrong thread!
Wow, sorry for the miss, ixtab and all. Going to post there and on the Wiki.
Let me say, for those Brazilian friends, that the location package is now with some better translation (my suggestions, as for the package of 14/03) and is going to continue improving. |

Text not being translated...
Dear Ixtab,
1. Thank you for putting me in the translation team. 2. I've translated the text from when you finish a book ("Before you go", "Rate this book", "Share that you have finished"), but for the first two strings, it simply continues in English, and the last is as it was translated before I assumed, and don't get the new translation. Could you help with this? |

Yes, and no: this is happening in the german version as well.
Actually, the "Rate this book" String isn't even appearing anywhere in the framework sources, so it might be an image instead. As for the title not being translated, it's even weirder. It seems like the text is being taken from the application registry, instead of the resource bundle: Code:
~/kindle-touch/sqlite$ LANG=C grep -r "Before you go" . ./prereg.sql:INSERT INTO "properties" VALUES('com.lab126.EndActions','displayName','Before you go...'); Binary file ./prereg.db matches ./appreg.sql:INSERT INTO "properties" VALUES('com.lab126.EndActions','displayName','Before you go...'); Binary file ./appreg.db matches |

Thanks, ixtab. About "Rate this book" and "Before you go...", it's understood. But "Share that you have read this book", It is translated, but changing the translation do not work; seems like a bug from a modify in localization.

Mi Touch is in "Spanish", and if i go to "International->Dictionaries" i only see "inglés" (english). I can change the default dictionary, but when a click a word I get a message saying there isn't a dictionary for book's language... (see attached images) How can i solve this? Thanks, Julio. |

This is probably related to the metadata of the dictionary itself. The dictionary needs to have the correct language information set, and the book as well. It looks like your dictionaries are set to english, instead of spanish. This is why there is no dictionary found for spanish.
You can use this tool to verify and modify metadata. I tried it and changed all 3 language-related fields for an italian dictionary from italian to polish, and afterwards it was "correctly" used as such by the Kindle: I wanted to do it with spanish, but got confused by the many choices . You may simply check the metadata of your books first to see what makes sense for the dictionary. Hope this helps... |

I usually set (or check) books languages with Calibre, and it shows "Spanish" for Larousse dictionary as well as the books i read, so i don't knew what's wrong... But, in MobiDataEditor there are two extra fields for language: "Dictionary Input" and "Dictionary Output". It seems this two fields have to be correct for dictionaries to work properly. After I corrected those fields (and after a restart), spanish dictionary started working. I only corrected dictionary, not books. I attached a couple of images in case someone have the same issue. |
