Wink As to the book reading function of Kindle 2.

Does anyone happen to know if Kindle 2 only read AZW format, or any other formats (for example, TXT book without copy rights) also?

It is a very cool function that I makes me very interested in Kindle 2.

Xie Xie Ni (Thank you!)

It natively supports Kindle (AZW), TXT, Audible (formats 4, Audible Enhanced (AAX)), MP3, unprotected MOBI, PRC. Other things can be converted to work as well.

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to find out. It's very easy to read off of.

I'd like to hear a few samples of the reading function of the new kendle.
Though I'm disappointed that it sounded like they're going to allow the blocking of the reading function (I wonder how that will go with the Americans With Disabilities Act ? )

Put kindle.com in your web browser and read the page. Kinda obvious:

I believe the poster is referring to text-to-speech.

In my opinion, it's not bad--the female voice reminds me of the voice in my TomTom GPS. It doesn't really have the normal vocal inflections one would expect, and it definitely sounds like a computer voice. But it's basically OK if one is in a situation where reading off the page is not available, like when driving.
