Sending books via email

I have set all of the parameters correctly and even sent a test email to my gmail account successfully, however, when I try to send a book from Calibre, it says sending email to my_account@kindle.com but nothing ever gets to my Kindle.

I have searched this forum for a solution but did not find one. Can you help me?

making sure you have that address listed to your account is important, but also, at least one person here realize he was closing out Calibre too soon....

That is what I didn't do. I didn't even realize that I had to. Thanks for the help. All is good now.
