At least it's on a wish list. I seem to be getting notifications for random items that were on a page that Amazon's <expletive deleted> search brought up.

The only minor complaint about Kobo's emails for books on special is that their idea of "special" and mine differ quite a lot. A couple of emails recently have told me that a Wishlist item has dropped from ridiculous to merely exorbitant ... ah, the trials the tribulations of modern life.

Not specific to the wishlist (perhaps that's what you meant), but I've wished time and again that there was a basket/trolley/shopping cart for ebooks. Yeah, I get bombed with those too. My wishlist isn't only books. And I don't get notifications on those items either. I guess if Amazon is nagging you about crap you don't want, add it to your wishlist. You'll never hear about it again

When I used Kindle, I wished there was a shopping cart just to avoid multiple receipt emails.

IME, and the way I read issybird's comment, Kobo is not reliable at sending email alerts when a wishlisted item goes on sale. Most of my wishlist is duplicated across Kobo and eReaderiQ. In the event that eReaderiQ notifies me of a book on sale from Amazon, and Kobo doesn't feature the same sale, I have so far been 100% successful in invoking their (Kobo's) price match. (Though I do make a habit of screenshotting the Amazon price until I hear back about the price match, just in case.)

I take it that this is a complaint specific to Amazon since the other ebook retailers I use allow me to add multiple books to the cart and then pay in one swell foop.

Yeah. Amazon enforces 1-Click for ebook purchases.

Yes, I've it turned off for all other Amazon purchases and it's the only site I use that has no reviewable basket/trolley/checkout. I hate it.
