It's the expected configuration. EDIT: although: is the trouble that you are extending the desktop (1 LCD and 1 EPD)? In this case, it would be nice to be able to set the DPI per monitor. Last edited by mdp; 05-13-2018 at 12:16 PM. |

Hello Mdp,
I'm not sure to understand how to do that or your explication. The main monitor is connected with the VGA port. The Max2 is connected to the HDMI-1 port. For the moment, I've made this tests : Quote:

The DPI setting is part of XFCE. You should find it in the settings GUI Check Settings > Appearance > Fonts > Custom DPI settings and Settings > Appearance > Style → High contrast Last edited by mdp; 05-13-2018 at 04:44 PM. |

Code:
xrandr --output HDMI-1 --scale 1.72x1.72 Check https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HiDPI As expressed, one's best configuration for using multiple monitors of different density could be: different DPI per workspace. But I have not found information on how to do that (I am not sure it's possible). |

Hello my friend. Yes, I found a way. I installed Wiredxdisplay from splashtop ( there is a free version for testing, and also installed the server on OSx high sierra). Results are great, I can finally use the onyx boox as a secondary display at an acceptable speed. It uses the usb question rather than wifi so it's quite fast. |

A VNC server on your desktop computer, bVNC from I. Iordanov on the Note, and unfortunately a wireless connection until Onyx enables USB tethering. |

Wireless VNC was unusable due to LAG. Wiredxdisplay is usable and I can write on it and it feels like a 24hz monitor. Sorry for the bad video I was excited and did it very quickly. I will make another video soon in better quality. |

802.11n could be, very grossly, 50Mbit/s (6MB/s) So, I would say that it stands. I believe that the data exchange is through serial though, because I suspect that to set a TCP/IP network through rndis0 you require root privileges, you cannot just establish it through a software application. Nonetheless, when stress-testing VNC I could not go beyond 15MB/s, so you should have plenty of bandwidth with USB2, even going from that nominal value to its half after overheads etc. No need for USB3. Hi MDP,
is there any way to turn off the partial update in grayscale mode in your monitor app? I really want to use the grayscale mode without the flashing/partial update and then I will do a full screen update manually when I need. |

the "Monitor" app is not "mine", it comes from Onyx, I just patched it to proactively temporarily fix a few shortcomings. If for "partial update" you mean that "flashing" which is that new shapes are rendered by making dots white, then black, then grey as needed - that is how the GU "waveform" works. It would not be as precise if it did not do that. And I think it does implement the "Regal" variation, which already minimizes the flashing and ghosting. |

Just a heads up: I used Max 2 as external monitor via HDMI and was very positively surprised!

New here.
I am thinking of getting Boox Max 2 for reading and coding. And I want to know more about the product, like input latency resolution etc. Can anyone share some thoughts on these? Also, can anyone summarize any patches put up on this forum? I heard that there is a patch on using touch screen while in monitor mode. Is the tablet coming with the patch installed or do I need to do other thing? If possible, can anyone summarize some useful discussion here or point me to a wiki page? Thanks a TON! Energy |
