Sony 505 grey lines when horizontal orientation

Hi,

just got my Sony 505 for a day, quite good. no problem when viewing the sample books in vertical orientation, but when in horizontal orientation the last two lines in the bottom or one or a little more lines at the top got displayed in a light brown color, like a grey one, is this normal? thanks.

Completely normal. When in horizontal mode, it is showing you a little more than 1/2 page per screen. The funny-colored lines at the bottom of the first screen are the same ones that also appear at the top of the next screen. It's telling you what the overlap is.
