View own files via Pocket

I am new to Kobo. Like it. Have found the Pocket integration useful.

Is there an easy way to create a note (presumably in .txt, .rtf or .html) and make it available to all my devices, including the Kobo, using Pocket?

I guess I could create such a file, connect by USB, and copy it to the Kobo; but an instant wireless connection would be easier.

I could create my note on a Windows 10 Desktop, but would prefer to use my Chromebook.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Pocket articles come via the Pocket site. You have to add them there, usually via a browser. If there is a way to add your own files, then they might turn up in Pocket on the device. I don't know of a way, I suggest you ask Pocket.

There's no way to "upload" a file into pocket.

If you have access to a web server, nothing would stop you from putting a raw HTML file on it and adding it to pocket. You can redownload the content from the Kobo, though it wouldn't be seamless.

If you don't mind your notes being public, Github Pages could be an option.

Thanks. I guessed that would be the answer. My email provider (Fastmail) has limited web hosting facilities. That would probably do the job, if I can work it out.

But if its a complicated process it will not be worth it. Might as well cable up and transfer - they would be static reference pages with no security issues.

So what you need is a publicly available website where you can upload/create notes that Pocket can scan and grab your content.

There are multiple candidates for this but probably the easiest would to be create a blog. Then create your "notes" as blog posts, use the "save to pocket" extension on your browser and you can delete your post once it's safely on the pocket site.

mmm

Tried both Wordpress an Blogger. Both allow a Pocketed note to be read on my Android phone; neither make my note accessible on my Kobo.

Interesting. Must explore more.

Remember it all depends on how Pocket has saved your page. Kobo only supports what has been classified as articles.
