Prime Lending Question

Does anyone know how authors enrolled in Prime Lending are paid?

Is it the same as KU, per page read? Or a set amount once downloaded? Or after reading more than 10%? Or are they not paid at all and enrollment is a promotional tool?

Just curious, thanks.

Not sure if it's still this way, but Amazon was (info from 2017) directly contacting select authors and offering/inviting them the option to have their book included with Prime Reading. If they accepted they got $5K up front to allow their book to be available for 6 months in lieu of any other royalties.

EDIT: This info from 2018 mentions a shorter time period of 90 days for a payment of $500

Prime Reading or Kindle lending library?

Prime reading is supposed to be a subset of KU whereas KLL draws books from all over.
(The comics and magazines in Prime Reading are a separate deal since most are tradpubbed.)

Thanks. I suppose that means the selection may change on regular basis.
