Question Ideal Jailbroken Firmware Version?

I've been made aware of LanguageBreak and have used it to jailbreak a KOA2 on its latest firmware.
So far things have been smooth, but with how spread out and mixed info can be, I figured it would be worth registering to ask this:

Is there an ideal version to be on once jailbroken?

It seems like every few 5.XX something has been a major change that breaks most existing things, but it's very hard to tell if 5.16.2.1.1 is compatible with anything I'd reasonably run into now or if I should be on 5.15.X-5.9.X because of some thing that just refuses to cooperate still.
The "Old UI" definitely exists as a factor (5.13.X?), but if I'm only ever opening KUAL or KOReader then I don't know how relevant the stock UI remains.

Probably overthinking this but might as well get the thought out there.

If you’re not planning on using the regular Kindle UI for reading books then there is really no reason to downgrade; people who revert to a previous version of the firmware normally do so because they prefer the older interface.

Be careful however with upgrading beyond whatever firmware you are currently on - the latest versions of the firmware do not play nicely with the jailbreak.

Alrighty, thanks. Wasn't sure if there's been lingering technical issues or if it was just the UI by now.

For better or worse, 5.16.2.1.1 remains the latest version on the KOA2. Not sure why, given the KOA3 seems to be identical besides the front light, but Amazon gonna Amazon.
I've run BinaryRenamer regardless.

Amazon guarantees 4 years of updates on devices after they stop selling them. The KOA3 was released in July 2019, marking the end of new sales of the KOA2. 4 years later was July 2023, so the August release of 5.16.2.1.1 being the last fits their published timeline.
