Trying to restore from moonreader pro

Hello, I'm not sure if this is a place to ask for help but I figured I'd give it a shot. I've had moonreader pro for about a year but never had to restore a backup. The other day I decided to reset my Nexus 7 tablet and re-install everything on a clean tablet. Before I did that I backed up moonreader to Google Drive and it created a backup file that has .mpro at the end. Now that I've reinstalled it, every time I try to restore the backup the app just closes and re-opens itself but none of the files are there. I've tried uninstalling the app, rebooting and re-installing. Is there anything else I can do?
