I was very disappointed when I saw a number of e-books listed at above $9.99 in the iPad bookstore.
I really was hoping Apple would put pressure on publishers to achieve low price points, but obviously not. So at this point we have Amazon and a small number of independent stores pushing low prices, and everyone else seems to be towing the publishers line. I'm sorry, I am not paying $10+ for an electronic book which I can't re-sell or lend like a paper book and which has DRM which restricts which of my devices I can read it on (DRM which turns my 'owned' book into a 'leased' book which the publisher can remove from my device at any point). It's a joke. |

A bigger issue in my mind is paying 7.99 for an e-book when the paperback is also 7.99. I didnt spend 300.00 to pay the same price as a paperback. I'm beginning to reconsider my kindle purchase.

Go to google and put in "Amazon Strikes Two Book-Pricing Deals" then find the link near the top and click. It works from there.

I wrote about this on my blog awhile back. I still think this is going to blow up in the publishes face.
