I was lucky to get it at Kobo UK for £0.99 a few months ago when pdurrant posted the sale in the Nonfiction thread. Earlier this month I got another book, Agatha Christie: An Elusive Woman, by the same author, and I'm looking forward to this one as well.

I added it! I'm excited to start in a few days
LOL! I feel as if I’m getting in way over my head, but I’d like to read this, another book someone here has suggested for January, and my own nominee for the month.

I’ll try. I’d be interested to hear from you about it as you read it or when you’re done.

It’s too bad that you can’t tell from the StoryGraph site who’s nominated which book.

I am confused. I don't want to do Storygraph, but I am interested in possibly reading and discussing Jane Austen at Home. Are discussions going to be here at MR, or at Storygraph?

I think the idea was to use the buddy read feature on StoryGraph, but because the mods created a tag for us to use in the Book Club forums, I see no reason why a thread cannot be started here to discuss the book

My whole goal was just trying to find ways for people to read together without the hassle or constraint of a regularly moderated book club here at MR.

Thanks. I haven't even tried Goodreads yet, so StoryGraph seems daunting, but 2023 may be my year to try new things!

Will do. I'm not looking too closely at the other books because I'm sure to get tempted away by all the shiny stuff

That's the danger - I'm supposed to be getting my TBR list reduced, and I see books listed that I would like to try!

I tried an online buddy read last year and decided it wasn't for me; it created an off-putting sense of obligation that interfered with my reading. A discussion post here, where we can come and go as we please, would work better for me.

(My username on SG is the same as here, loosheeh)

I’d prefer this also.

I’m away from home right now but will be back at the end of the week and could start any time after that.
