Double Authentication

Calibre 3.46.0
Accessing via Windows 10

Why am I being prompted to login twice?

When accessing the server via http I am getting prompted to authenticate twice.

Authentication type set to digest
After authenticating twice it lets me in.

Authentication type set to auto or basic
I can authenticate once and just click "sign in" or "cancel" and it lets me right in

Thanks

What browser and are you accessing via a proxy? Digest auth is typically less well supported by proxies and browsers, since they would rather you use SSL + basic

No proxy
Chrome version 76.0.3809.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)

IE version 8 all the way to 11.678.17763.0
Will not load page.
Gets stuck on:
Loading, please wait…
You can also use a simple, non-javascript version of this site: here

I can turn off digest and just use basic, but it still double prompts.

IE is not going to work. I thought in your first post you said auto or basic do not require double auth?

If I enable just basic auth:
I get prompted for username and password. After hitting enter, I get prompted again.
From the second prompt I can either enter my information and click enter or just click Cancel and it lets me right in.
