Almost all laptop manuals provide step by step instructions

In your case you should have to remove the suggested screws/cover and give drive a little push.

With all power/battery removed of course
I bought the laptop from Best Buy (Dell) and had the Geek Squad install the new drive so hopefully it was done properly. However, I'll read the manual and figure out how to check it.

(turns out my Newish Toshiba's drive is held in by the bay cover and 1 screw which implies the DRIVE SHAPE is critical)
