For Apps you need to have a Credit card on your amazon account. Even Free Apps.

Have you gotten Kobo on your Kindle yet? I got mine for Christmas. If you have not, try m.getjar.com. You can all kinds of apps that amazon doesn't have, including Kobo. And it works perfect!!

You can amazon gift cards. They are the itunes cards. I get mine at Walmart. Even if you have a credit card on your profile, it will the gift card first.

Can Kindle Fire play pdf files like this http://www.tech4mathed.com/BlogStuff...Blog_final.pdf that require Adobe Reader X?
