DOSBox on eDGe Android - Ever Solved??
Hello everyone
I am considering purchasing a Pocket Edge on eBay (I know, late to the game) I've just gotten tired of eyestrain from LCDs and am looking for something with great PDF compatibility I am curious about DOSBox compatibility with the eDGe's Android OS I came across one forum post from a year ago https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=136600 Hoping the (then upcoming) release of DosBox would solve compatibility Has the problem of running DOS Games on Android been solved? Looking to play Monkey Island, etc. And maybe even WordStar 7.0... (don't laugh.)  Thanks to anyone who can help. |

I would, but I don't own an Edge yet
I'm looking to get one. That's why I'm asking if any existing Edge users have gotten DosBox to work or other DOS games through other means...

Hi Andreus!
I haven't tried any DOS anything on my eDGes, so can't help you there. But I am wondering if you want the smaller Pocket eDGe screen for reading pdfs, or whether you have looked at the bigger eDGe? I love my Pocket eDGe for gaming and carrying around, but prefer my big eDGe for reading. If you get one (either size!) I hope you'll like it. Meanwhile, maybe someone will actually answer your question.

I am considering a full size eDGe because of the reading capabilities. I really just want to read and annotate PDFs and use a few DOS games and apps and take notes for classes. As far as DOS goes, I'm even willing to settle for VNC of a Windows computer - @garyhgaryh - thank you for trying! I assume you used the PE. Are you rooted ? I'm wondering if anyone with a full Entourage eDGe can test it, since I am considering that one too... Many thanks. |
