Nö, würde mich nicht stutzig machen, du kannst via Paypal bezahlen und bist abgesichert. Ich schätze nur, dass er schon einige Verkäufe hatte, wo er ziemlich lange auf das Geld warten musste.

Paypal ist der Groesste Verbrecherverein ueberhaupt.
Wenn du kannst - sieh zu dass du mit Kredit-Karte bezahlst bei einem bekannten Anbieter. Wenn die Mist bauen, kannst immer noch deine Kreditkarten-Firma anrufen, und die Buchung rueckgaengig machen. Musst denen aber beweisen, dass die Misst gebaut haben.
Ist mir bisher immer gelungen.

Ist doch bei Paypal genau so. Wenn die Ware nicht dem entspricht, was du gekauft hast, bekommst du auch dein Geld zurück. Hatte ich bis jetzt keine Probleme mit.

Ich hatte bisher auch keine Probleme mit PayPal, höre in letzter Zeit aber öfter Mal schlechte Meinungen. Man kann ja auch via PayPal mit Kreditkate bezahlen. Also doppelt abgesichert?

Ich bin noch am Überlegen... Als armer Student ist ein Reader für ca. 150€ schon verlockend.

/edit: Weiß jemand, was das PRS-505S bedeutet? Besondere Version?
/edit2: Nvm, war wieder zu blöd. Sony nennt den Reader auf der offiziellen Seite auch 505S, steht dann wohl für "Silver"...

Also, von dem hier hab ich auf ebay gekauft. Per Paypal bezahlt, Gerät war nach 3 Tagen hier.

Das ist genau der Trugschluss. Paypal macht mit deinem Geld was die wollen. Es gibt genug Leute die geprellt wurden, eben weil Sie PayPal vertraut haben. Es kann naemlich sein, dass derjenige der das Geld an paypal ueberwiesen hat, es kurzerhand (nachdem er dir bewiesen hat dass er das geld dort eingezahlt hat) zurueckzieht. Dann hast du Ihm was geschickt, aber kriegst dein Geld nicht. geht auch andersherum. Und die Garantie, dass du dein Geld kriegst - auch im Betrugsfall - kannst auch knicken ...

Hm, kann ich doch bei Abbuchung via Kreditkarte auch machen: Mit Karte zahlen, dich was schicken lassen und dann die Buchung rückgängig machen.

Oder seh ich da was falsch?

@smurphy, ich habe einen Onlineshop und die meisten Transaktionen laufen über Paypal. Ich kaufe und verkaufe viel weltweit. Ich habe beide Seiten schon einige male durch, also einmal Käuferschutz einmal Verkäuferschutz.
Solange du dich an die Richtlinien hälst, kann dir nichts passieren und Paypal, schützt dich. Du musst natürlich deinen Part der Liste erfüllen. Dann greift der Käufer- bzw. Verkäuferschutz.

Ganz am Anfang, war es möglich einfach das Geld zurück zu ziehen, dies ist nicht mehr so einfach. Die Schutzmechanismen sind doch sehr gut geworden, für beide Seiten.

Korrekt. Nur dass es bei PayPal noch so gesehen wird, dass alles sicher ist - was nicht der Fall ist.
Wenn jemand aus dem ausland die Buchung rueckgaengig macht (was ja der kick bei PayPal ist), dann ist deine kohle futsch

Wer noch einen 505 sucht:

bester Preis ist z.Zt. 180 Pfund neu von play.com aus UK - allerdings versenden die nur nach UK - man braucht also einen Bekannten in England, der ihn dann weiterschickt (ca 15 Pfund)

Insgesamt also ca. 220-230 Euro
Oder über ebay.co.uk - da gehen öfters refurbished für einen ähnlichen Preis rum

aus USA importieren lohnt sich meiner Meinung nicht - das Zoll und MWSt Risiko frißt die Dollar Ersparnis locker wieder auf
Höchstens wenn man selber gerade drüben ist - aber auch da sind die Versandhändler meist besser im Preis als die Ladengeschäfte.
Wenn man weiß daß man ein paar Tage in einem Hotel ist, kann man natürlich online bestellen und ins Hotel schicken lassen - hab ich auch schon mit amazon.com gemacht
