Any Canadians who have owned both the 505 and 700?
Hi there,
Any Canadian out there who have used both and iwould be nterested in talking to me? I'm a gadget reviewer doing a piece for the Georgia Straight in Vancouver about the Sony eBook. I'm at gidgadgets@gmail.com Love to hear from anyone considering moving up to the 700 or waiting for the Amazon Kindle to arrive (if ever) in Canada. peg |

I have a 500 and 505 - and owned a 700 for a couple of weeks before I sent it back. I found that there wasn't a compelling enough upgrade reason for me to give up the clearer 505.

Hi Buddy,
Great pic..I have a Great Dane and if I put her next to my Sony 505, I think the picture would be much different. May I call you? I'm also based in Vancouver and writing a review of the 505 and 700 for the Georgia Straight. Please contact me at pfong@novuscom.net or 604-562-0186 which is my cell. |

Re: Any Canadians who have owned both the 505 and 700?
I've owned both, I had my 505 for about a year and a half, and I've had the 700 since it came out. I really like most of the improvements for the 700, except that you've fewer page-turning options. Works pretty well using the stylus as a page turner, but I keep misplacing it when I set it down for a second to do something else. Also, to give your hand a break, I'd like to see an option to flip the screen 180 degrees, which would put the paging buttons at the top of the page under your right thumb.
Speed is much improved, and I find the display to be pretty close to the 505. And now that they've released a 64-bit version of the eBook Library software, pretty much all my complaints have been resolved. Dan |
