Bulk Renaming
Is there a way to rename a group of books by removing x number of characters from either the front or end of the existing name?

You can use a regular expression in Edit Metadata in bulk | Search And Replace.
Search for ...(.*) in title and replace with \1 to remove the three first chars. Search for (.*)... in title and replace with \1 to remove the three last chars. Read more about regular expressions here: http://docs.python.org/2/library/re.html |
