Kindle book without sample?

Hi guys, I was looking to take a glimpse at a book by Julien Gargani (Voyage aux marges du savoir) before buying and noticed that it does not offer a reading sample to download:

I have never seen this before and always thought that samples were available for all books without the possibility to opt-out for the author/publisher.

Does anyone here have any background on this?

I don't get offered a sample but the books in French. I wouldn't expect a sample.

Books without samples do occur (you will have noticed that freebies only have Look Inside and some have nothing,).

Why not? Another book in French by the same author has a sample available.
