A reviewer on Amazon wrote:
The writing is clear and compelling, the characters are relatable and the story, well the story kept me reading to the early hours of the morning. For the first time in a long time, Avant Nation was a book I just couldn't put down. In the world of dystopian YA fiction, Avant Nation, could place with the Hunger Games trilogy and the Maze Runner series. Love it! |

#KindleUnlimited Avant Nation was excellent. It was fast paced and easy, but did not lack depth. As far as dystopian novels go, this is one of the better ones. I think one of the descriptions of the book labelled it as suspense, but I think horror is a more appropriate genre. While the book was not at all gruesome or spooky, it was a little too real for comfort. The world that Verhoff creates is entirely possible, especially given the advances in technology today. Avant Nation deals with genetic engineering, creating an extreme juxtaposition between Avantica and L.U.D. It brings so many questions of morality and ethics to the surface . . . I'm hoping there will be a sequel because it can't just end, the story was too enthralling! ~Amazon Reviewer Last edited by Lima Bean; 02-09-2017 at 06:33 AM. |

This was an unsolicited review on a blog. I just discovered it.
"Both characters had internal struggles that echoed with me. It is that kind of emotional reach from any novel that sets apart from any other." http://thesewordsablog.weebly.com/bo...-by-cd-verhoff |

"Overall, Avant Nation is a joy to read, right up to the climatic ending. Well executed in plot and setting and the theme of genetic engineering vs. rampant capitalism should earn this a spot on any Alternative History or Science Fiction fans shelf." ~Amazon Customer

The novel is stand alone, but there's unfinished business that warrants a sequel. Stay tuned.
