Tethering?
Can you use your smartphone as a wifi hotspot for your kindle fire? I want to know for when I am down the shore in the summer because I don't have internet down there.

Go to the Kindle World Blog http://kindleworld.blogspot.com/ and scroll down to the December 11 entry and see if that answers your question.

Yup. I do it all the time. Check with your cell carrier - there's extra costs involved as well as gigabyte limits unless you are grandfathered under a limitless data plan. Hugs, Ratkity |

I'm paying $20 for 2gb/month (beyond my phone's unlimited 3G) on Verizon Wireless. it goes month to month, not on a contract, so I can remove it whenever I want. So far, in my first month, I stayed well within the 2 Gb limit, but I don't stream very much viddeo at all.
