Waking up K1 taking longer?

My K1 is about 20 months old. I read a lot every day, and the original battery is still good. I have noticed recently that it seems to be taking longer to wake it up from sleep mode. It used to take five seconds, then for a long time seven, and recently it is taking eight seconds.

This is no big deal, just wondering if anybody else has noticed this? I did put my fully charged extra battery in, but it made no difference, so went back to the original one.

By the time it is ten yeas old, will it take an hour to wake up?

Have you tried the old reset trick to see if it speeds up?

Yup. No change. This is not a major problem, just curious.

I have noticed the same thing. I moved all my books off the kindle onto the SD card, but it didn't help. Oh well, until someone tells me a newer device would give me folders, I will adapt.

This can also be due to your currently open book being ... um... that format that people hate because kind of a graphical font pic rather than the embedded fonts. I've lost the word (help!!). Those open slowly and cause a slow awakening.

Is it possible that heavy reading - adding and deleting - has fragmented the flash drive?
