I think I saw a Philips demo maybe 13 years ago?
Then there was a Sony demo. I saw an actual folding phone in CEX two weeks ago. Over €1100 and used. The middle was a bit bumpy. |

Some things my mind refuses to believe. I can't believe that the pixels at the fold won't eventually degrade or something. But maybe it takes long enough that by then you'd want a newer model anyhow.

An electronic display that can rolled and folded like paper is a huge game changer. Then add color... If they can get this stuff to really work like paper, then everything will change.

I'm not impressed. Although....:
Once it's rolled up, it would be perfect for use in the bathroom. AND, there's even a handy holder in every bathroom! |

Why would you want to roll it? It would fit better in a case, pocket or purse flat.

My primative mind fail to see a practical application for this technology. Or rather, this just look so fragile at the moment. I'd be scared to take it out.
