Damn Straight by Writer's Digest contributing editor and journalist Elizabeth Sims (SYKM, Wikipedia) is the 2nd in her Lillian Byrd Crime Series of mystery adventure thrillers starring the eponymous Detroit-based lesbian freelance writer, this installment a comedic one featuring her taking an undercover mission at a California golf tournament (with apparently, increasingly ridiculous disguises) to uncover who's been plaguing a new sports star lover of hers with assorted threats and in turn finds out an unexpectedly surprising secret, free courtesy of the author herself, who is e-printing it from its 2003 paperback edition originally out from long-established LGBT specialty publisher Alyson Books (Wikipedia).

This was a 2003 Lambda Literary Award winner, and quotes a lot of praise in the Editorial Review section, where if you click to expand it and go to dedicated ER sub-page, you can read a moderately in-depth Q&A with the author on the writing of this book and her assorted setting/plot/characterization decisions.
