Various: Past Masters Ninety-Five, v1, 4 Sep 2022
Further short stories from magazines and newspapers, including a group of four by Richard Connell. His most famous story is "The Most Dangerous Game", which is in this issue, but he wrote in a wide variety of genres and the other three show his versatility. I have also included a newspaper interview with Mark Hellinger, celebrated broadway columnist and Hollywood movie producer, which was in all probability written by Hellinger himself when in Australia in 1944. He wrote, by his own count, some 6,000 short stories at the rate of one a day, for many years.
1: Madam Lucifer / Richard Garnett 2: Twice Drowned / Christopher B. Booth 3: The Most Dangerous Game / Richard Connell 4: Pardon This Intrusion / Richard Connell 5: Tested / Richard Connell 6: A Friend of Napoleon / Richard Connell 7: Javelin of Death / Captain Dingle 8: Made in Borneo / Leo Crane 9: The Dancer's Mascot / Beatrice Heron-Maxwell 10: The Philosopher's Mistake / Francis Gribble 11: His Strange Inheritance / Druid Grayl 12: The Man Who Sold His Head / Elliott Flower 13: The Girl on the Platform / Harold Bindloss 14: The Storm Centre / J. J. Bell 15: Myrtle and the Baronets / K. R. G. Browne 16: The Building / Seumas O'Kelly 17: A Commercial Mermaid / George A. Birmingham 18: The Clutch of the Law / Deas Cromarty 19: A Witch City Mystery / Frederic Van Rensselaer Dey 20: Auxons / Julia Truitt Bishop 21: A Supernatural Swindle / Tudor Jenks 22: Behind the Curtain / Don Marquis 23: The Short Story of Mark Hellinger / Anonymous 24: The Luck of the Trevors / John Strange Winter This work is assumed to be in the Life+70 public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution. I can't open the EPUB-File. The MOBI-File works for me without any problems. Could you check it, please?
BTW, many thanks for your work. It is very very highly appreciated. |

I don't have an epub specific device, just e-reader software on my PC, and a Kindle device which does not read epubs. The epub file works fine in my PC e-reader software. Perhaps another epub reader of the series might have the same problem with Past Masters 95 and can help identify it.

Thanks for the quick answer. It is the first time that Calibre on my PC cannot open your epub file. It is no problem for me as I can open the mobi file and convert it to epub.
