Import log - files not imported

Hey all,
Still having issues determining why and which books arent getting imported during manual adding. I have limited imports to 300 files, but still out of those 300 epub, and mobi files it will reject a handful without reason.

How do I look at the log for importing files?
How can I reconcile the non imported files?

There are reasons we recommend adding books in small batches (20-50).
You found one
Small batches give you a chance to resolve and fix snags along the way.

You could wade through a Debug log and try there to spot what aborted,skipped.

But the real question: Does this really save TIME? No!

Valid point for sure, still learning my way around calibre.

Thank you for the lead in the debug log. Now I can at least try and find what may have caused it

Ok so running a dummy book import on the very same group of books I did earlier today that resulted in a few files not being imported.


I started the import with 500 files, the active import process showed 483. I checked the debug log and noticed the successful "added" but no "skipped", "aborted", or anything showing any unsuccessful file import or that it knew there was even 500 files to start with.

When you add books, if you get an erro message about some books, it means metadata could not be read from the books, not that the books were not added. The only time books will not be added is if the files do not have read permission.
