Sony 505 £60 at Waterstones (Factory Refurbished)

It may be old and out of date but it's still a very good reader.

Looks like it comes with the case like the original as well.

Just ordered one so I'll let you know if it has a case when it arrives.

awesome! I just ordered one too.

I was looking at PRS 350s and 65-s on Thursday as my 505 is not holding charge past a week anymore (and a couple of dead lines have appeared outside the reading area)

£59.99 is a bargain for a 505, and I had a £20 giftcard so it's only costing me £44 including delivery

I'm not seeing the link on the waterstones pages anymore, prehaps it was a limited offer.

I can say that my PRS 505 turned up thursday, box was obviously used and slightly shabby looking around the edges and corners, but the unit itself is immaculate, in the standard 505 tan cover, with Reader library software v2.3, Adobe Digital Editions software and user manual on a CD, with a seperate CD of 100 Classicswhich I've not looked at - if I remember rightly the versions submitted to this site of these books by contributors are better laid out.

I logged in to the US Sony reader store site (as that is what was setup with my 500) and they gave me the option redownload all my purchases in ePUB format which I then added to my 505.

My intention now is to use the latest version of Calibre on my laptop rather than my PC instead of using the Reader Library software.

So far so good, no complaints at all, shame the link on Waterstones site didn't last long, I was thinking of getting another as a back up. ah well.

Well, after the first one turned up with a cracked substrate, after a bit of back and forth and a couple of false starts with waterstones and sony repair, waterstones sent me out a new (or at least newly refurbished) one which arrived today.

Looks like new, just installed prs+
