Instructions for patching firmware 4.12.12111

This patch thread is for firmware 4.12.12111 (13a696105944ed1b9f901a72822d2aaa78b0b3d1).

Instructions for patching on Windows, Linux, or macOS with kobopatch:

1. Download the firmware from here.
2. Download and unzip kobopatch_4.12.12111.zip from here.
3. Copy the original firmware you just downloaded into the kobopatch src folder.
4. Install the firmware on your kobo BEFORE proceeding with the next steps.
5. Enable patches in the files in the src folder (or use the overrides in kobopatch.yaml to keep your options separate).
6. Run kobopatch.bat on Windows, or kobopatch.sh on Linux.
7. If the patching succeeded, a file named KoboRoot.tgz will be created in the out folder. Copy it to the .kobo folder of your device.
8. Safely remove your device.

v39 (2019-01-03): Another replacement for Hebrew keyboard (@lilymike), new "Only Reading and My Books" patch (@jcn363), new "Hide browser from beta features", "Use old keyboard on all devices", "Remove beta features not supported text" patches (@geek1011).
v38 (2018-12-21): GeoffR's patch to reduce extra top/bottom space, added comma replacement to Cyrillic keyboard.
v37 (2018-12-17): Set default value for ePub fixed top/bottom margins patch to 0px.
v36 (2018-12-15): Added 24 line spacing values and epub margins patches from GeoffR.
v35 (2018-12-15): Updated kobopatch to v0.12.0 (ReplaceBLX, FindBLX, ReplaceBytesNOP), simplified quite a few patches.
v34 (2018-12-13): Updated kobopatch to v0.11.0 (ReplaceZlibGroup), added updated "Dictionary pop-up - increase available text area" patch from jackie_w.
v33 (2018-12-13): Initial release for 4.12.12111.

Notes about this firmware version:
- Note that kobo changed the download server from download.kobobooks.com to kbdownload1-a.akamaihd.net.

I'm planning to finally give this a try, one quick question to make sure I've understood the instructions correctly:
"Copy the original firmware you just downloaded into the kobopatch src folder."

Does this mean extract the entire zip into the kobopatch src folder, as when manually applying the firmware update to my device?

No, just put the zip in there as-is.

It's great being able to adjust sideloaded fonts, thanks to you all so much! It makes me wonder why I waited so long (a whole month). Now for some kind soul to add a devanagri keyboard to the impressive list in the the patch files, and I'll be all set

@geek1011 thanks for the patch. Maybe there is an error with hiding the recommendations (row1col2) for Mark6 firmware. The patch generation failed with this log output:

If someone has this firmware installed on a lower-resolution device such as Touch or Glo, could you post a screenshot of the first page of this test ePub please? margintest.epub (it shows a thin rectangle filling the available screen area. Sideload it as an ePub, don't convert it to KePub.)

Take screenshots with and without the show header option ticked. This will let us work out the size of the header to allow for in the `ePub fixed/adjustable top/bottom margins` patch.

(Edit: Screenshots from other devices like H20 wold be useful too.)

That's a conflict with another patch. I'll take a look later. All the patches are automatically tested individually before every release.

Here are some screenshots from my Aura Ed 2. These ones have the 33% header menubar reduction (but I don't think it makes a difference), and the custom footer style (default settings) patches enabled. I'll do some without those patches this afternoon.
