Mixed view collections/books
Hopefully I can clearly describe this, I've searched a few times but haven't seen what I'm looking for.
Prior to my PW2, i had a Touch. On my Touch, my normal view was collections, with un assigned stuff after the collections. It was nice, as I got new books they went to the end, and I assigned them collections. I could always see new downloads as they went to the end of the list of collections. When I got my PW2 and migrated everything, i can't figure out how to recreate that view. Maybe it's not possible, though I hope I'm just missing something. Hopefully that makes sense? I've mad due, but more and more a view like that would be nice as things get lost much easier now. |

There are two things here:
- Collection 'sort order' (the rightmost dropdown menu, with Recent/Title/Author/Collection) - Collections view (the dropdown menu in the middle, with content types All/Books/Periodicals/Docs/Collections/Active Content) Collection 'sort order' is analogous to the view you had on the Touch. But for that to be enabled, you need to 'star' one or more Collections (add 'Show in all views' property). To 'star' them, go to Collections view, long tap to bring up the context menu, and pick 'Show in All Views'. Then there will be a 'Show only in Collections View' menu choice should you choose to un-star them. Collections view just lists your collections and no other item types. It will show them whether they are starred or not. That list can be sorted by Recent or 'Title' (collection name). Last edited by tomsem; 12-03-2014 at 12:48 AM. |

Sorry for the delay, knew I shoulda brought the Kindle to work.
So I definitely remember the "Show in all views" option but i can't find it now. I've tried on all my collections, no joy. Just the Add/Remove items Rename Remove from Device and Delete in the context menu from long pressing on a collection. Wonder if that went away recently? |

Quote:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=252252 'Remove from Device' moves it to the Cloud. So you can have a different collection subset on different devices (at least on the new Kindles). So Show In All Views is gone, except on older Kindles. I don't use that feature, myself. Last edited by tomsem; 12-04-2014 at 02:29 AM. |
