Balzac, Honoré de: La Grenadière, v1, IMP, 19 Dec 2007
A short story of about 9000 words.
La Grenadière is a house near Tours. It has been rented by a dying woman, who has to prepare her children to live alone. The story has an elegiac tone and some lovely descriptions of nature. This was taken from a .txt file in PG, so I have added accents, italics and formatting, plus one picture.
