I'm not interested in streaming-- -I assume.that Young's works are already available on any number of music subscription services, some free (ad-supported). Something that I read definitely led me to believe that the songs were downloadable. Due to the lateness of the hour right now, I'll have to read over the material again tomorrow.

The Spotted Peccary label is having a December holiday sale. The discount code HOLIDAY25 is good for 25% off the total order. If you buy at their website the code is applied automatically at checkout, according to the email I got. You should see a notice at the top of their homepage -- clicking through will get you to the product page.

You can also buy at their Bandcamp store, but it looks like the code must be entered manually at Bandcamp.

Spotted Peccary releases a lot of Ambient (artists like Darshan Ambient, Time Being, Ben Cox, and others) and Electronic music (artists like Dean De Benedictis, Between Interval, etc.). I especially like the collaborations between Jon Jenkins and David Helpling (Treasure, Found, and The Crossing).

The only benefit that I see now is being able to listen in the "highest digital quality possible"--until June. And my "ears" probably are not good enough to tell the difference between that quality and that of MP3's. At any rate, I certainly don't have the equipment to take advantage of the difference.

Amazon Music scraps storage subscriptions for MP3 imports

Amazon is planning to retire its Music storage subscription service, the plan that enabled Amazon customers to upload their own music to the company’s servers. Mind you, this doesn’t mean the Amazon Music or Amazon Music Unlimited products are being retired; rather, just the option to upload personal music libraries to the platform. You have until January 15 to sign up if you want this subscription.

Amazon quietly revealed its plans to retire the product, with customers first noticing a warning on the Amazon Music Storage Subscriptions page that states both free and paid plans will soon end. Amazon has confirmed to us that it is indeed ending the music storage option, but this does not affect any music bought from the company.

About Amazon Music Storage Subscriptions

The Amazon Music Storage subscription plans (free and paid) are being retired. New subscriptions will be accepted until January 15, 2018. You can upgrade your Amazon Music storage plan, until that time.

If you upgrade your Amazon Music storage subscription, you can store up to 250,000 imported songs in supported file types.

Tip: For information about supported file types, go to About File Formats .

After upgrading, your Amazon Music storage subscription automatically renews on the last day of your annual billing cycle, if auto-renew is set to “On.”
