Hi everyone,
I've just bought a Kobo HD to transform it as a paragliding flying instrument expecting to install XC Soar application on it. Unfortunately while installing the file on the .kobo directory the kobo freeze and I cannot write or read the SD Card anymore. The ISo file I did first is not working as it seems the partitions are not respected as on the initial SD Card. Even if I cannot transform the Kobo I would rfeally appreciate to "save" it and use it as a simple reader now. So my last hope is on your shoulders and more certainly on davidfor if you are kind to send again and image of the original SD Card that would be really appreciated. Not sure it will help but the version system is 3.18 Will you all excuse my english writing, I'm posting from New Caledonia and our language is normaly French. Sorry guys and thank you for reading. |

PM sent. The image was taken after post-factory, so it will update to the latest firmware during the setup.

Thank you so much davidfor, you're really a nice guy. I'll let you all know how the things will turn. But I'm very optimistic, you look so competent.
Thanks again Cheers L. |

Hello,
Same issue as @Omega6nc - I tried installing XCsoar and now the device is frozen up and I can't factory reset. I'd love a link to the SD factory image so that I can reset it. Pil0t |

pil0t: PM sent, but I'd be surprised if a factory reset doesn't work. The steps to do this are:
- Charge the device for at least an hour. - Hold the power button down for at least 20 seconds to make sure it is off. - Hold the power button down and tap both bottom corners of the screen. Keep tapping until something happens. The timing is important, so you might need to try it a few times. Unless the XCSoar installation does more than I think it does, that should work. |

Indeed it did work, and I didn't have to reimage. I don't think I was tapping the corners vigorously enough for it to work the first time

Hi,
I messed up the sd-card of my gloHD while playing around with some 'hacks'. I thought I had a backup-image but I can't find it anymore. Already tried the image for glo from davidfor with no luck. Can someone send me a image of the total sd card or the first ~300MB (with u-boot, kernel and so on) thanks in advanced and best regards |

Assuming that you did follow the steps correctly, I would suggest: - Doing a factory reset as with the new image installed. - Using a new card. The size doesn't matter much as you can expand the user partition to fill the space. - Tell us what actually happens when you try to start the device. And what you have done to fix it. |

I wrote the image to the sd card using "USB Dublicator Image Writer" on Windows. Also tried dd under linux.
Put the sdcard back into the gloHD and tried to enter recovery using the "press and holt powerbutton and tap on both bottom corner"-method. Powerled turns on but nothing happens on the screen. |

Um, I think this might be my fault. I just checked, and looking at the PM I sent, it was for the Glo, not the Glo HD. My apologies. I have sent the correct link just now. Hopefully that will fix things.
