Battery life cycle: small battery recharges, useful or detrimental?

Following the helpful posts and hints I have found, I never use fast chargers and try to keep the battery of my Onyx Boox Note 2 with a charge between 40% minimum and 80% maximum.

https://www.eeworldonline.com/why-yo...martphone-now/

https://batteryuniversity.com/articl...er-lithium-ion

Often when I have to add to a book or other task,I let the device charge
a little bit normally, and always without exceeding 80% max (battery charged).

Are these small loads beneficial or detrimental to the battery?

Thank's a lot in advance

I certainly think that if you've got the time fast charging is a thing to avoid.

Personally, I don't worry about all this too much. It's more than likely that I'll have bought the next model before the battery starts going.

OTOH, a bunch of my older models (that I keep around for regression testing) I've removed the batteries because of swelling. That's not a big deal because I just run them on a lab power supply and it's easier because I don't have to charge a device that I haven't used in a year or so.

You're probably right. Since I only use 5V (active) USB connection it probably only takes a bit more than 500 ma. As I said, I haven't given much thought to this.

Renate, aha...now I understand that you meant that you were more likely
to do battery-ectomies than to replace a battery.

Last christsmas I bought a second hand onyx boox Note 2
so I'm looking forward to it.

These are the measurements it gives with your UsbMode apk.

power usb
status charging

battery 4.103 v 76%
Curent: 383 mA

power usb
status discharging

battery 4.117 v 76%
Curent: 379 mA

I keep in mind that sooner or later I will have to change it,
maybe for an Asus Nexus 7 C11-ME370T ME370T

but...
have never found a post commenting on a successful disassembly
of an Onyx Boox Note 2 reader, if you have experience maybe you could help us.

Thank's a lot again.

I have never replaced the battery on a Note 2, but I have done so on a Note Pro, as have others on this forum. Since the Note 2 looks very similar to the Note Pro and since they were both released in 2019, I would imagine that the process of replacing the battery is the same.

Here is a link to a thread which reveals that process: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=339908
