Amazon UK ebook gifting arrives
I've just noticed that there's an option to buy an ebook as a gift on the Kindle Store here in the UK, at long last.

I don't know when it appeared, or if it will still be there when I next look, but it's nice to see the option.

Far as I seen it has always been US only on amazon.com with the requirement that the recipient can only redeem if they are in the US. That it showed up on amazon.co.uk might have been just a geo restriction glitch. The same book you linked on US site has the gift option enabled.

When I checked yesterday, you go into an ebook and there's a box 'Buy for others' between the regular purchase box and above the 'Send a sample' box in the right-hand frame.

It may be something they're testing right now. Amazon does a lot of A/B testing of website designs and features, so it's possible that's why it seems to "come and go" or might only be there for some people.

It would seem to be a useful thing to add in the run-up to Christmas. I assume you need to be signed in and have One-Click enabled, or something. There was definitely also a help page for it when I looked yesterday, trying to figure out when it had appeared.
