Ok, will send file. I just tried the book on my ipad mini (same OS, same version JustRead) and it worked fine. The only difference is that I hadn't been reading it for a long time on that ipad.

Maybe please think about updating to ios26, ios18 is used on less than 1% of devices justRead is running on, right now.

Unfortunately what I’ve read indicates iOS 26 is a resource hog and the iPhone 13 doesn’t have as much RAM as newer phones and therefore struggles with it. I’ll upgrade the phone eventually, but just don’t feel the need at the moment.

Hi gustopersmob, I tested it in simulator, iphone 13 and ios 18, and did not find any problem.
But it is a simulator and I think it has not speed of the real devices but speed of the hardware it is running on, so maybe real device is much slower. The problem is it is even not possible to buy iphone 13 anywhere nearby.

Also, iphone 13 is not an old device, from my perspective, I had older device, iphone 11 pro, running ios26 and yes it is slower that my actual device (expected), but it is slower no matter the iOS version. It was slower before, with iOS 18, and it is slower now, with iOS26.

I think what you experience is the 'slowness' of the device, it simply takes 'so long' you touch the word again. Can it be?

I don’t think it’s the device causing the pop up menu issue, mainly because it was working fine before, and still works fine in other apps, both native apple apps and third party ones. It only seems to have this behavior in justread.

Please, do anyone else having problem with popup, when touching a word while reading?
I am not able to reproduce this problem on any device I have, be it a real one or simulator.

EDIT maybe I have an idea: gustophersmob... which of those five options do you have enabled in this popup? All, some, in which order?

I have all enabled in this order: search, look up, copy, highlight, translate.

It was working properly before with this setup.

Thank you. Can you please disable it almost all and let just highlight be enabled? Does this change things?

And another question: is this behavior constant, no matter the position of text? Meaning on left, center, right?
Also does selection of text appears, but no popup? Or even the text is not selected?

Disabling the options except highlight didn’t change the behavior.

The selection of text appears to work fine. It’s only the pop up menu.

It’s not a huge issue or anything, so probably not worth spending much time on it if it’s not affecting anyone else.

For what it’s worth, v2.6 seems to have fixed the text select pop-up menu for me.

Though I now notice when a word is highlighted it takes multiple taps to clear the highlight, unless you select one of the pop-up menu items.

Yes I changed this a little bit, because those two functionalities were 'battling' for that touch event, now this menu is always 'the first touch' event.
