[Title] -> [Title Sort] doesn't like leading Quote (34)
Small issue but when the title has leading quote, the Title-to-Title Sort button drops it
e.g. "Book Title" becomes Book Title" Two leading quotes makes the Title Sort correct, but the metadata shows 2 leading quotes |

What if you use “Book Title” rather than "Book Title"? The " is a programming quote, historically a typewriter double quote. The “, ”, ‘ and ’ has no significance to programming, but " and ' do.
Don't use the ` beside the 1 key as that's a diacritic mark. |

Know that Tried that Doesn't make a difference More work to use Alt-0147 (“) than just regular old ASCII 34 (") Some programming languages use double quotes ("") in a string to embed the ASCII 34 as part of the string literal. This works to have the correct format in [Title sort], but leaves the double quotes in the metadata edit screen |

Even before I swtiched to Linux I used the MS Keyboard editor to make the keyboard be like Linux, except Compose
Keys z x c v b AltGr « » ç “ ” Shift < > Ç ‘ ’ (all the printable keys having four options not just á é í ó ú of standard UK or US International) I'm surprised “and” didn't work. |

It was a good thought and the situation doesn't arise too often so I'm pretty sure I'd forget how to do it

Your screenshot is showing a leading quote being ignored, as expected.

Maybe I'm having trouble understanding at the moment, but the change log says something different, doesn't it? Leading and trailing quotes

Maybe I'm lost, but not both are stripped, as you can see in my screenshot.
Is it because of the language, maybe? |

In your screenshot there is a opening quote in the title and no opening quote in the title sort. AKA, the opening quote has been stripped when generating the title sort, as expected. If you mean the quote in the middle of the text is not being stripped, yes there is no support for that. Only quotes at the start or end are stripped.
