Color (at present) is meh!

I suggest you go with Kobo for a better then Kindle. The UI on Kobo is so much better then the UI on Kindle. I have a Kobo and access to a Kindle with the new firmware and Kobo is so much better.

Kind of a low bar, but true none the less.

I've been very happy with my boox poke3. Their internal reader is only so/so, but you can activate the google play store and use whatever you want. I even checkout library books with libby. You can even pretend it's a kindle by installing the kindle app.

They also have a color model, but as was mentioned, color is kind of meh.

There is no best. What's best depends on the user and their needs/preferences.

I moved from Kindle to Kobo and love my Kobo readers, but I wouldn't necessarily say they're the best option for everyone. It very much depends on your use case and what you expect from your ereader.

All brands have good e-readers. As has been rightly said, it depends on needs and preferences. To cite a few of a similar size:

Onyx Boox: Leaf 2.
Kobo: Libra 2.
PocketBook: Era.
(Kindle: PW 5).

I will say of the ones listed here, the Kindle has the worst UI.

There are several e-ink readers available in the market, and it ultimately depends on your specific needs and preferences. Here are some options to consider:
  1. Kobo eReaders: Kobo offers a range of e-ink readers that are comparable to Kindle. They have a variety of models, including the Kobo Clara 2E, Kobo Sage, and Kobo Libra 2. Kobo eReaders support a wide range of file formats, and they offer several customization options for reading experience.
  2. PocketBook eReaders: PocketBook is another popular e-ink reader brand that offers a range of models. They have models that range from basic to premium, with options for waterproofing and built-in lighting. PocketBook eReaders support a wide range of file formats, and they also have a feature called PocketBook Cloud that allows you to sync your reading progress across multiple devices.
  3. Onyx Boox eReaders: Onyx Boox offers a range of e-ink readers that are comparable to Kindle and Kobo, with options for both basic and premium models. Some of their models offer color e-ink displays, such as the Onyx Boox Poke2 Color and the Onyx Boox Note Air. Onyx Boox eReaders also have support for Android apps, allowing you to use other reading apps if desired.
Ultimately, it's important to consider your specific needs and preferences when choosing an e-ink reader, and doing research and reading reviews can help you make an informed decision.

For what purpose? What country are you in? What features do you want? What's your budget?
