The challenge now is to properly define the elements in the <meta> or <dc> tag. While reading different descriptions. ![]() |

A separate github repository for a translated User Guide would be best in my opinion. I'm not opposed to adding a translated version to our Official User Guide releases, it's just that our releases are automated. We push a tag to github, the release is made, the epub is built and attached to the release. We also don't make updates to the epubs attached to releases after they're released. So we wouldn't be able to simply update the attachment if you find problems later. There's also a concern that none of the source material that was used to create the translated version attached to our official releases would be available in our repository (except in the released epub).
I appreciate the effort, but being able to link to contributed translations (from our repository) would really be best for all concerned; if at all possible. I'm sure we'll be able to work something out. |

@DiapDealer Um, there is Calibre that manages a multi-language (and multi-format) User Manual efficiently, via Transifex.
But that would require at least a complete rewrite of the manual... Probably the installation of Calibre itself is not the best for Sigil, but if you want to make a multi-language User Manual, it would certainly be better to restart from scratch. Last edited by un_pogaz; 03-06-2023 at 02:47 AM. |

Sigil software is translated by volunteers on Transifex but the user guide is not and there are no plans to move it there. Nor do we plan to embed documentation strings inside the source to auto-build a "guide" because many many images are needed in a guide like ours with accompanying tips and hints.
Each translation of the user guide could do that themselves or use github as we have done if they so desire to spread the load over many volunteers. |
