pdf to epub

I converted a ppt presentation to pdf and used calibre (excellent programme by the way) to convert the pdf to epub.
The first page (slide) was perfect but whilst all the various jpegs and text came out all the graphics drawn within the ppt itself all came out as black pictures.
Has anyone had the same experience?
Thanks

PDF is always a problem - particularily if there are mixed text and graphics. You would be much more likely to get a successful conversion if you saved the presentation to HTML and then converted that.

Appreciate your reply however, doesn't work. Having read the various posts in the Forum I see I am not the only one with this problem
Thanks anyway :-)

Are you saying that the HTML->ePub conversion does not work? It has always been successful for me.

You will see a raft of posts about problems with PDF->ePub conversions (or PDF to any other format). PDF is not designed to lend itself to conversion.

I agree with itimpi, go into Powerpoint and save your presentation as html. Then add the html to Calibre. Going to PDF might be good for class handouts but it is horrible for converting to ePub.

OK done that but office07 it zips it and although calibre will download it the result is 0.0Mb.

Anyway am trying a new avenue so thanks your help and sorry for delay in replying.
Cheers
