Have geographic restrictions down under reduced?
I'm not sure when this happened, probably sometime in the last 3 weeks or so, but some Hachette books are finally available in New Zealand and Australia. Both kobo and Amazon have them now - and kobo has lots at a really good price (or at least for the author I was looking at, Alexander McCall Smith).
They did that very quietly but I'm happy. Last edited by kiwipippa; 04-25-2011 at 02:51 AM. Reason: Spelling |

Well, it's that kobo and amazon did bother to get the licence and all.
Same from france, they are the only one selling to us. |

No changes in geographical restrictions, it just means Hachette have decided to publish them as ebooks here.
Since agency pricing is definitely unlawful in Australia and probably is in New Zealand, there is some possibility of price competition between retailers. |
