This thread is giving me a headache. I was once the admin of a forum and populated the word replacement filter (generally used to sanitise curse words) with things like:

This would be a good time to lobby against the verbing of nouns.
Also if you want to stop using adjectives as adverbs, I can do it real good. |

I was being silly, of course, but there are so many nouns which I am having a hard time seeing as verbs. Now, instead of giving someone a birthday gift, I gifted them with a trip to the movies. Some things are just progression of language and are difficult for my grammar "groove" to adjust to, other things are just plain ole bad grammar. |
