Fixing typos in Topaz file
Is this possible? I don't mean the unchecked OCR version that comes with them for searching purposes, I mean change the actual images used to display the characters, like change 'a' into a 'b'.
So it would be something like extract the files, edit the html that says things like this: <path id="gl3353" d="M 9 6 C 8 6 8 9 8 18 C 8 21 8 25 8 work out what character each number was, fix the mistakes by changing the number, then put it all back into a mobi file when you've finished. |

Nobody's written any software that takes the raw SVG data and rebuilds a topaz (or a mobi) file, that I'm aware of.
Plus each glyph has a large amount of data, and there's no dictionary to map that glyph data to identifiable characters (or vice versa) without manually creating your own for each book. With that manually created map, you may be able to examine the xml data and actually "edit" the raw SVG images, but at this time, you'd still be stuck with no way to rebuild the topaz file (or create a mobi) in the off chance that you did succeed in making your changes. Basically, any editing being done utilizes the underlying OCR in preparation for format shifting. |
