Kobo forums needs a moderator
Someone who is a regular user of the Kobo forums should be made a moderator so things like the firmware threads can easily be stuck/unstuck as need be as well as other things in a more timely manor. Also, it would help to also not have to report these threads as often.

Isn't any staff going to respond?

I think they gave you an answer.
I guess you will just have to wear out the report button. |

I guess the staff doesn't care. It's a shame really.

Forum level Mods are unpaid volunteers,
Not draftees. Sometimes a friendly nudge, might get them to step up to the bench. Alex and crew still have to approve the candidate. |

I wasn't volunteering. But I would do it if the staff wanted. I've no issue there.

The Kobo forum needs a moderator who actually knows how to handle things. Too many important threads are unstickied and too many threads that do not need to be stickied are left sticked. Please appoint someone who know what's going on. Thanks.

Everything that needs to be stickied, is already, Jon. The most current firmware patching thread is going to be stickied. That's it. No more multiple firmware discussions threads being stickied. All discussion/patching threads can now be easily found using the new Kobo Firmware wiki. That's why it was created in the first place: a central repository of information and links easily editable by members. Get used to using that instead of using sticky threads like they're personal bookmarks.
We're not being lazy about your sticky requests, Jon. We simply aren't always going to agree with you about which ones need to be stickied/unstickied. The most important thread -- how to get to the Kobo Firmware Wiki -- is the primary sticky thread now. Last edited by DiapDealer; 02-23-2017 at 08:21 PM. |

Too many stickies and they just get ignored. Be it Kobo or any other forum.

For example, in the Kobo Reader forum, I do think there are threads there that are sticked that do not need to be sticked and threads not sticked that should be sticked. Also, there are sort of duplicate threads that should be merged like too many threads on the same version firmware. There are things a Kobo forum moderator can handle.
The thing is, the Wiki is good, but there are some threads that would be better off stickied and some not sticked. Last edited by JSWolf; 02-23-2017 at 08:26 PM. |
