Kindle 3 and Cat hair
I have 3 cats. Despite my best (okay, half-assed) efforts at brushing them, I get a lot of their hair on places where I can't vacuum and where I use my kindle (like desk or bed or chair).
Anyway, this has resulted in getting a number of cat hairs somehow stuck on the edges of my kindle. It's like the screen isn't seamless in the frame and there's enough room for hairs to get caught. Any ideas on how to remove this? I'm afraid of scratching the screen. The obvious idea seems to be a vacuum cleaner extension, but you often see mentions of not to do this on electronic devices |

Yeah. The K3 screen seems to be prone to fluff and pet hair getting caught. So far I've managed to always yank it out by hand or with tweezers.

The kindle is just like me, allergic to cats.

I noticed the same thing. Our cats sleep with us and I read in bed so....
I pull them out with my fingers. So far that has worked. I confess I don't remember having this problem with my K1. |

I"ve heard baby wipes are great for cleaning the screen.
The damp wipes might help 'lift' the hairs.... |

I don't have cats, but occasionally a stray bit of my own hair/random fluff gets caught at the edge of the screen.
When that happens, I take i bit of very thin flexible cardstock (I have some of those DIY mini-flashcards that the student bookstores sell) lay it nearly flat and very gently poke the pointy edge at the screen/frame join right above the hair, as parallel as I can, until it dislodges and I can blow it off. Edge of a piece of decent-weight paper should probably also do the trick. |

I find dog hairs in there all the time; I usually just pluck them out. Just make sure your fingernails are short and try not to scratch the screen. Alternatively, you could put it in a watertight/airtight case.

I just sweep it with my doona when my cat's hair sticks on it. Seems to come off.

I used cotton buds (Q-tips) to unwedge hairs etc. from the edges of the screen. You can go with fingers or tweezers for the second part of the operation. The K3 seems to have a knack of trapping things under there.
